About Alj Augustine

Hello, World!

My name is Alj Augustine, and I am a freelance writer, aspiring fiction author, former editor and an all-around creative. I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember, and I am on a journey to make it my life’s work.

For several years, I was an editor at Wetpaint Entertainment and have been featured on sites like XhibitP.com and GirlsLife.com, where I’ve written articles in regards to pop culture, music, society, as well as provide advice to young girls. I’ve also written for ProudGirls.com (formerly HangProud.com) and helped to spread the power of self-esteem and confidence to young women across the country.

Additionally, I was an integral part of the editorial team of BlackGirlNerds.com for about five years where I became a Senior Editor and Senior Leadership member while continuing to contribute features, editorials, and TV recaps.

I’ve also conducted several interviews with magnificent women who once took part in the VIVmagnificent Woman campaign by VIVmag magazine.

My passion for writing knows no bounds — I literally enjoy writing about as many of my interests, though fiction undoubtedly has a soft spot in my heart. I am currently working on my first full-length fantasy novel, in addition to finding publication for my numerous fiction shorts and essays.

In addition to writing, I’m also an avid crafter, who loves to make jewelry in my spare time (which I sell on my online boutique), and am a host to new adult-centric podcast, Adult-ish, on iTunes.

Please feel free to look over my body of work posted here and/or contact me if you’re interested in collaborating for an upcoming project.

Thank you once again,
